TEAS Registration Information

Our test center administers the TEAS exam for all students, whether they are planning to apply to SJSU and/or a nursing program at another institution. We only administer the paper/pencil version of the test. We do not give the computer based version.

Follow the instructions below to register for the test:

  1. Visit ATI Testing to create an account and get an ATI Paper/Pencil ID Number.
      • This number is required. You will not be able to receive your scores from ATI without one.
      • Print out and keep your ATI Paper/Pencil ID Number. Bring this ID number on the day of your test, along with your admission ticket and a valid photo ID.
  2. Register for the TEAS by clicking on this CASHNet link.
      • Read and follow all directions carefully. Make sure to pick "Test of Essential Academic Skills".
      • Use your name as it appears on your driver's license, state ID card, or passport. On the day of the test, you must present a valid photo ID that matches this name EXACTLY. You will not be admitted into the test center if your ID does not match. We cannot refund test fees if this happens.
      • If your ID has more than one last name, put all of them in the Last Name field. Any middle names can be added after your first name.
      • You MUST type your ATI Paper/Pencil ID number correctly during the registration process. If this number is missing, your registration may be deleted. Incorrect ATI Paper/Pencil IDs will result in your scores being irretrievable. We cannot refund test fees if this happens.
      • Please note: our site only administers the paper/pencil version of the test. We do not give the computer based version of the TEAS. We cannot refund test fees if you register incorrectly.
      • Complete all other personal information carefully. Double-check it before you click Checkout.
      • Complete all payment information carefully. Double-check it before you complete your payment.
      • Save your e-mail receipt. Print a copy for your records.
  3. Before the day of the test:
      • Study for the test. ATI offers study materials to help candidates prepare.
      • All students will receive an admission ticket via e-mail about a week prior to the test date. Print it out and bring it with you on the day of the test. If you have not received an admission ticket by 3 days prior to the test date, please e-mail us
      • Make sure to set aside (1) your printout of your ATI Paper/Pencil ID, (2) the printout of your admission ticket, and (3) a valid photo ID that matches exactly with your test registration.
      • If you need to correct any ID issues, e-mail the Testing Office to request a correction. When you e-mail us, please provide a PDF of your ATI Paper/Pencil ID, a PDF of your registration receipt, and a PDF of your photo ID (driver's license, state ID card, or passport).
      • Extended time and/or disability-related accommodations need to be made four weeks prior to the date of your exam. Register for the exam first, and then visit a counselor at our Accessible Education Center (AEC) as soon as possible with your registration receipt. The AEC is located in the Administration building, Room 110. Visit the AEC website for office hours.
      • Review our campus map to locate the building where your test will be, and to locate the nearest parking structure. Plan to arrive early. Late candidates will NOT be accepted.
  4. On the day of the test:
      • Arrive early. Late arrivals will not be accepted.
      • Bring a printout of your ATI Paper/Pencil ID, a printout of your admission ticket, and your photo ID. Electronic copies will not be accepted.
      • We will provide calculators at the test site. You do not need to bring your own calculator.
  5. After the test:
      • Scores will be posted on ATI Testing. They will be available 10 business days after the test.
      • Additional score reports, if needed, can be ordered from ATI.
      • If you have any questions about your score, please contact ATI for more information. Our site administers the test only and does not score any exams.
